ALEXANXDRIA, Va. – Oct. 14, 2010 – Savi Technology, a Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] company and leader in wireless solutions that manage smart assets, has been named by Connected World magazine to its CW 100 list as one of the world’s most “innovative technology providers of M2M (machine-to-machine) and connected devices.”

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Sept. 21, 2010 – Lockheed Martin’s [NYSE: LMT] Savi Technology today announced the first-of-its-kind technology device that can switch from satellite or terrestrial wireless systems to continuously monitor the location and condition of shipments anywhere and at anytime.  Called the Portable In-Transit Tracking Unit (PITU), the new-generation device about the size of a digital video recorder connects communications among Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) devices, GPS location and SatCom systems, global cellular networks and  sensors that detect environmental and security changes. Routing Hub Will Provide Unprecedented Visibility of RFID-tracked Consignments Moving Through National and Multinational Supply Chains

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Sept. 13, 2010 –Savi Technology, a Lockheed Martin Company [NYSE: LMT], today announced that the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) has launched a network exchange hub that allows NATO and coalition forces to share information on supply shipments more efficiently and effectively.  The Routing Hub will foster greater multinational collaboration by facilitating the exchange of information using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-tracked consignments moving through military supply chains.

Deployed at the NAMSA headquarters in Luxembourg, the Routing Hub transmits data from Savi’s interoperable RFID-based logistics network, which automatically locates, tracks and manages in-transit NATO material. Nations connected to the Routing Hub at NAMSA can directly transmit logistics data to other users, providing enhanced levels of real-time asset visibility. (more…)

 


Savi Technology Names William Maggs as New Chief Technology Officer

Maggs Brings to Savi a Deep History of Technology Expertise from Palm, Sony Ericsson and Motorola

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – Aug. 19, 2010 – Savi Technology, a Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] company and leading provider of low-power wireless solutions to manage supply chains and smart assets, today announced that William Maggs will join the leadership team in the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  Maggs, who also becomes Savi Technology’s Senior Vice President (SVP)-Technology Operations, formerly was CTO at Palm, Inc., and worked at mobile handset companies Motorola and Sony Ericsson in Advanced Technology and ecosystem development roles.

In his role as CTO and SVP at Savi Technology, Maggs will be the chief catalyst for innovation as well as the focal point for all technology operations throughout the global company, including the design, development and delivery of wireless products and complete software solutions in public sector and commercial markets.
